I think that taste that only comes with a price is pretty tasteless.
Is that a little backhand action I'm sensing? lol.
There's good things you can get for a small fee but in most cases, nice things always come with a price. I don't buy things because they're expensive, I buy them because I like them. The problem with the price tag comes after I find what I'm looking for. If others find it tasteless for its value alone, that's really not my problem.
Have insane digital copy ? Buy 1k crappy version that you aren't completely happy with; profit.
Btw I love those but lulz at paying any money for them. There are tons of people producing amazing work that you can enjoy on your pc for free.
Guild Wars 2, Isle of Janthir (NA)
Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken.
Lol...so it turns out I did get the print for a bargain. Since this specific print only surfaces on ebay once or twice a year and the collectors on Expressobeans are more than reluctant to sell theirs for less than $1500, the other copy was sold for $1450 4 days after I got mine for $850. I suppose I got lucky XD
Yep. Very. And I'm glad the frame I picked this time is nearly half the price of the previous one. I'm hoping to get a call from him today but either way, I plan on dropping my cousin's Rhys Cooper piece at his shop later.
The original version is still for sale from that gallery. However, the Korean text variant was sold out for a while now but you can still get them - if you're persistent - from private collectors who are willing to sell their copy.
Really want to get this Olly Moss print badly. But the Green Japanese variant cost so much on ebay
But let me get this straight: -Actual movie spoilers-
Spoiler!
So the dude w/ the penthouse banged his sis and Oh dae su started rumors so dude w/ penthouse locks up Oh dae su for 15 years and makes him bang his daughter just cuz he started rumors or wtf. Either way thats fked up and what the hell.

That pretty much sums up the movie yes.
Though,
Spoiler!
The result of the rumors was that the penthouse dude's sister thought she was pregnant of him. She believed in it so bad that she started showing signs of being pregnant. Afraid of what people would say about them, she decided to commit suicide by jumping into that reservoir. So actually, Oh Dae Su was responsible for the death of penthouse dude's sister. And you don't actually see them banging, he starts making moves on his sister and thats when Oh Dae Su spots them.
Anyway, awesome movie. And awesome artwork for it as well :o
Although never directly stated in the movie, I've always thought that Woo-jin (penthouse dude) was desperate to look for a scapegoat for his sister's death and that the sister might have actually been pregnant. So when he found out that Oh Dae Su was the one who started rumors, he put the blame on him. Whether or not he had actual sex with his sister is a matter left to the audience -- much like how the ending is open to interpretation on whether or not the hypnotism worked.

I was actually going to comment on the fact that we don't actually see him having sex with his sister, because oh dae su just spots him making a move on her and not doing the actual deed.. but yeah in my mind that is not even really the question; it was about the rumors spread and everyone knows how it goes with rumors.. no such thing as "just making a move" ;] This is one of the movies I enjoy showing to my friends, nobody expects the plot twists :]
And this is where I end my spoiler tags i think ;P
Got it in the mail this week. Amy Sol's "Forest Cradle" ..I wasn't really crazy about the work itself but $20 for a limited (to 100 copies) Amy Sol print isn't a bad deal at all.
Where do you hang these things anyway? I always find images with humans very awkward when hung in visible places. Any paintings we have at home are images of towns or farmlands and whatnot.

@poe: Not yet. I'm actually just stocking up on my collection for now -- sculptures/figures and prints. I had to spend over $3k last month on an emergency leave from work (plus unpaid hours).
Not really an art print but it's a limited edition pendant (100 pcs) made by the artist, Jason Limon so it does sort of count. And it comes with a CoA.
@BlackFox: Lol..doesn't look too bad huh? Well, there's a reason why it's often called "lowbrow" art. Some people get it and they like it, most people don't.

I do agree with you, we all have different views/ideas on art. Well.. at least I didn't say "crap" lulz
Lol that's fine. I know it's not for everyone. There are million-dollar abstract paintings that I consider to be nothing but garbage aside from the ridiculous monetary value.
