its a nice tut but u could have expained this without a tut

open a new canvas 3x3 draw a digonal line across and go to edit>define pattern and then new layer Edit>fill and choose the pattern u made. u can do this with anything u draw

It would be better if you deleted everything but the car on the soft light layer, and please smudge or blur the license plate - could get your ass burned.
