Need Help To Resize This Picture

Can any expert out there teach me or help me to resize this picture to width:700 Height: 250 ??
Everytime when i try to resize it to 700 x 250,the picture will become distorted and lost it's original quality.
Can some one teach me how to do it?

The reason why it becomes distorted is because you want to extend the original width and contract the original height.

Try using a more suitable pair of dimensions.

meaning that if the pic is 800x600 then resize it to 600x450

What he ment is that you're now trying to 'switch' the dimensions of the picture. That means that you want to make the picture as high as it is now in width and vice versa. The very moment you try that, Paint, photoshop, GIMP, whatever, can't keep the quality of the picture because the pixels become 'stretched' in a direction they're not supposed to.

Those where my very own, made up words. Does any of it make sence/is right at all? XD
