A Small Update from Me

Post by Kraq »

I wanted to tell everyone here at the AC, because I get such a warm feeling thinking about all of you, that I've been really good and I really miss doing works with you all.

I'm going to start a private arts school here in SoCal, Art Center College of Design, in the Fall on a really good scholarship. Thanks to you all for inspiring the art out of me, I owe it to this place for getting me started on my artistic path.

Keep on creating because all of you make great work.

I'm going to be majoring in Fine Arts, Painting.

That's great, you definitely had a knack for it.
You're welcome to stay and make more stuff, AC could definitely use some more posts... right now it's basically just me Q_Q.
I've been in a strangely art-oriented mood lately, so I've been posting increasingly often... I'll be practising a lot of face drawing and body drawing for a while...

Anyway, go ahead and post your stuff :P
What'd you make to get the scholarship? I assume there's an entry test to get inside after all...

Damn, I forgot I posted this haha. It was one of those in-the-moment things and it's a bit odd reading it. Thanks to each of you for your felicitations.

I will be posting up some new work soon, I wish the AC wasn't so inactive so I'll try to do my part in bringing it to life. Speaking of life, life drawing is so great man. Faces and bodies are my favorite things to draw. I'm planning on doing a huge piece this Summer of my figure, a self-portrait I suppose but without a portrait; so I'm not sure it still counts.

Once I finished the app. for the school they reviewed my portfolio+financial status and decided how much money I need/deserve. I could post my portfolio if anyone is interested in applying to an art school and would like to see what a Fine Art portfolio looks like. I know I was clueless last year about all that jazz.

Keep on posting man, I love to see you progress.

Rek, it's very competitive but it's one of the most rewarding things. You should do whatever it is that pleases you.

A few life drawings of one of my favorite models, he has an interesting body type.(2 came out really huge, just a warning before viewing)
Spoiler!
each 20 minutes

This one's me holding a live painting of a fellow painter, this one was fun because we were both painting each other at the same time while standing in front of each other.
Spoiler!

about 3 hours iirb, it's oil on some old material i found lying around an art class, i feel like it's linen but i'm not too sure.
