In need of advice :P

I'm making this signature for a someone's birthday, but there's something wrong with it and I can't really find it.
Well probably everything is wrong with it, but can someone gimme some advice on this thing, just to improve what I got. And yeah I know I'm really bad.

- Right side is really empty. I'd suggest to resize the signature.
- Blending of you render is lacking. See the white border around your character? Go to Layer -> Matting - Defringe and put it to 5, should do it. After, I'd probably smudge a bit on the sides of the render.
