IK I am a total photoshop noob, but I want to learn this.

How do you make that halo around the text shown in Dom's Logotype Tutorial !! It looks amazing, and I want to do it over every letter of 2d text to give it a Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 look. Help greatly appreciated, just trying to learn some new techniques, and yes IK i am a photoshop noob

If you duplicate the text and gaussian blur it, a bit, maybe like 5ish that might do the trick. The Modern Warfare 2 text also is motion blurred. I would duplicate the original text and motion blur it if you wanted to do that and then turn the opacity down, it will prolly be bright. You may need to do it in both directions to get the desired effect.

Ya thanks for the reply, and helping me get a MW2 look, but what I am looking for is more of a halo around the text, like in Doms Logotype tutorial, the one from deviantART.

I uploaded a picture, I want an effect sort of like that, and while I am asking questions, how do they get that little sparkle on the top of the letter?
But mostly, I want an effect like that

The yellow swirly thing is basically pen tool. If you are specifically referring to that one, its pen tool with layer filters.

If it's not the swirly stuff, then nevermind =D
