haw haw i got R10  anyways,

those are the basic shapes and different modes for creating your models. With the first 6, you use those to create your own shapes, but your gonna need to learn how to work with different perspective views in order to get the shapes you want. The others are preset shapes ready for use. Then you can apply nurbs, mats, lights, whatever you wanna do.

Well like I said you need to use different views. You can't just work with just the default perspective view alone. So what you do is open up the basic views like: side view, top view, and front view all at the same time. If you want to model the front part of the model, then you have to work on the front view and then click on the side view to model the side, and so on and so on. There are also perspective, parallel, angular, and other views to help you work around your 3d models.

double post

this is what im talking about:

Image

Click on that little square icon at the upper right to open up the four panels revealing front, right, top and perspective. it's a bit complicated since it does require some knowledge on mechanical drawing and maybe some understanding on blueprint reading. Your gonna need to know how to use those views to make your 3d models.

You can use nurbs for text. Type text, click extrude nurbs, then drag text layer over extrude nurbs layer and you'll see what will happen
