My first thought was the render. You say you did it yourself and it sucks but i dont think thats the problem. If you covered the edges a little with the chaos c4d effect then most of the harsh edges would be unnoticable. Another technique ive used before to hide raw edges is to draw a thin line with a brush then smudge and set opacity down or (if it is dark, which btw this technique works best with, to leave the opacity alone and...) perhaps adjust the mode.

Of course you prolly know alot of that...

PHARRELL FOO

v1 has better text placement. The only thing thrwoing me off is the c4d placement. It's a lil messy so it's kinda hard to see some flow to it. Prefereably it should go to the upper right. The colors pwn though. Just work on composition so it's alot less chaotic.

it looks good background wise, but the text is bad sorry, really long sayings don't make good texts

also, the blue doesn't really match the sig, like the render doesn't really fit into the blue blob of awesomeness

its a great background, but it really has no flow imo.

Yeah some of that blue light should show on the focal. Just try to blend in the text too. but this is awesome for a start. kiu

V1 for me too because of the text as well. Like Aazu said really long sayings aren't usually the best you should have made "Hershey" and "is ours" a smaller font. It does seem messy but nothing to bad that can't be fixed my main problem is lighting could use some more work.
