Planet go boom

Made this yesterday. I wanted to try making this a while ago but never had the time. I was going to go for a different look but got side tracked with an idea and just figured I'd leave it at that.



It is pretty old I know.

Opinions?

I think it has some great effects overall.

The pieces looks its lacking depth atm though. I think couple of areas in the background should be burned and the stars in the back should stand out more, if you know what I mean. I'm looking for the shiny stars feel and I'm getting white dots on a not-too-dark background. I would also add some blur/sharpen on the planet itself to make it more realistic.
