Hunter is pretty noob friendly. But it all really depends on your play style, single or in a party. How do you play like? What character did you like to play the most in SRO? Would you want to play a similar build in WoW?
You can also try out each build. It's not that hard since this is obviously not SRO were you're faced with hours of grind/farming just to see how a certain build plays.

On sro i was always wizards / nuker... But is the Hunters the bow like chars? Also, how strong are they?

Hunters do use bows/xbows/guns. They can also tame pets and have it with them all the time (like the wolves, etc. in SRO). They're mainly a DPS (damage dealing) build when it comes to raiding. As for PvP, they're decent from my experience but don't take my word on that since I didn't PvP much with my hunter.
Since you played Wizards/Nukers, you can play Mages. But each class in WoW can get really specialized so there are other classes that are similar to mages. For example, priests can be specced (specialized) into DPS like mages.

Hunters are pretty awesome. I have and 80 DK,Hunter, and mage. hunter is def my fav. DK is second and mage is ok, i get mad playing it after all the nerfs, kinda shitteh in pvp. But it really depends on play style.

Go Rogue

Unlike SRO, you can party, you will be invited to instances, you will be included in raids, you can solo most quests even some "group" quests, you will be able to stealth through areas, you can make tons of extra gold and loot pickpocketing and lockpicking, you do mad burst damage and/or sustained high dps, you will be hated in pvp and singled out but that just gives everyone else more breathing room to kill, you do have lower default aggro so in raids with some help from OmenThreat or another addon you should be ok.
But remember what style you like to play and pick that. Have fun and welcome.

It seems that all my friends are playing in a pvp server, while I'm still downloading the whole game (plus updates) Whats the difference between the PVP server, and the regular one? Aside the obvious.
Another noob question, does wow have an ITEM-MALL? lol Like theres no items to give other players an advantage over me, like the prem plus on sro.

PvP servers just means you're always able to be attacked by the opposite faction outside of friendly zones. Also nope, no item mall here. =]

Everyone's already paying ~$15 a month so everyone has access to everything so long as you keep your game updated (expansions, etc.) The only content that can differ between players are AddOns, but still, everyone has access to them.
AddOns are UI modifications. In general, they simply take what's already in the game and present them to you in a better way (than what Blizzard has done). They're not illegal as Blizz allows them. I suggest you get QuestHelper and GatherMate as a start. As you have already guessed, the first one helps you track quests and the second one helps you with your gathering professions.
What are AddOns:

^ stealing my comments

Carbonite is the best addon out there...

I say Either go
Druid or Shaman... or Shadow priest
Druids can tank, shamans can heal and shadow priest are dps
Fun part about priest is you have mind control which you can take over other peoples character for a little bit..
Or you can just rush to 55 and play a DK

In the last patch, they changed something about the DK, and I have since lost interest in my frost spec. xP I do, however have a MM hunter, which rocks.
IMO I would suggest a quick leveling/grinding class. In my experience, hunters and warlocks have both been quick grinders, the pets/demons allow for you to take more mobs, and the various cc (crowd control) skills that they have help to manage agro. As always, base your character on what you think will be fun, and play to enjoy it... not to beat all the rest. xP

I wouldn't go spouting crap about DKs unless you knew what you were talking about.
All DK specs can tank. Blood is best single target TPS. Unholy best AoE TPS. Frost best survivability.
Also, Unholy is the highest DPS tree.

No no no no no. Especially if you've played Silkroad. Silkroad makes WoW seem so easy.
I went from 42-44 last night in 4 hours. Just quest.

Everyclass can tank others are just better... i had to tank a heroic on my mage and we did fine...
Unholy sucks cause really nothing to it that helps you out.. woohoo you get gargoyles and a pet but at 80 you get army of dead with all specs
I know more then you about dk's since you probably never got one to 80..

Bone Shield = mitigation.
Desecration = TPS
Nobody uses a gargoyle when tanking. What you've seen is "hurr durr I'm DPS but I wear plate I can tank."
May not have a Lv80 DK, but my friend has an 80 DK tank, Unholy spec, and MTs raids.
And no, every class can NOT tank, because not every class can get gear to become UNCRITTABLE and have a large HP pool AND avoidance/mitigation.
Failure line is that way ->

One shot =/= tank.
Mages can't get high enough armour values, HP pools and avoidance/mitigation.
Before you go "they can tank while soloing", tank =/= in solo play, it's all in group play.
But thanks for showing you haven't got a clue what you're talking about.

Quest helper rocks, up until you go to find something, and it is completely off. I use a combination of quest helper and thottbot.com, which seems to get me through my quests rather quickly.
Lol @ Brago... Mages aren't tanks, sir.

^ A tank is a character whose primary role is to absorb damage and prevent others from being attacked
anyone can do that... just some die faster..

Need to hold aggro while enabling others to attack, also a healer would have more aggro than a mage tank

+1 on that. A priest would last longer than a mage simply because of it's healing abilities, but the point still remains, clothies =/= tanks.
