How to Destruction DPS?

Hello guys,

As I'm progressing into the Raid-part of this game I notice I rarely make the Top 10 DPS in the DamageMeter(which can be quite embarassing)...as a Destruction Warlock

I dont know what Im doing rong, I think I have a decent gear but then again maybe I do not use my spells at the right time

Here is my current cycle:
CoA --> Corruption --> Chaos Bolt --> Immolate --> Incinerate --> Conflagrate

Warlocks out there,please help me?

Your spec, glyphs, and rotation...not so great. I honestly don't know if this post is for real and you just don't know that much about your class yet, or you're trolling. =\

100% Serious(Advices on Destruction-only please =P)

EDIT: Currently testing out some Demo builds,so if you could help me with a rotations with Demo that would be awsome =D

I never raided my lock, but I'm pretty sure you should use curse of the elements instead of agony. And spam more incinerate during immolate uptime.

I went back to your armory link to recheck your spec, as I couldn't remember it. Seems as though you've changed it...regardless...

Deep Destruction
CoDoom > Corr > Immolate > Incinerate Spam/Chaos Bolt Spam
- refresh your DoTs when needed. depending on how deep into Destruction you are use Incinerate or Chaos Bolt. It wouldn't hurt to use both, if you think you can manage spicing up the rotation without much loss to DPS. CoDoom outperforms CoA in deep destruction because Molten Core was moved. Use Conflagrate whenever the CD is up, and throw a couple Soul Fires in there for shits and giggles.
If you decided to spec back into deep Destruction, I'd suggest checking out this build. It scales very well with spell power and crit.
Glyphs are a major boost to your DPS. Always make sure to keep them updated, and prioritized. You should focus on
Immolate
Conflagrate
Incinerate or Chaos Bolt // again depending how deep into Destruction you are.


As for your current spec, or as WoW Armory lists it, it looks like you were trying to achieve a Meta build of sorts. You aren't quite there, so I'd suggest checking out a cookie cutter Meta build.


Also, do you know what stats you need to focus on and what the priority of them is? Or how to gem your gear? From what I see, you have a couple gems that you could switch out and it would boost your base DPS nicely.

Oh noes, Destro DPS takes more than just binding your entire keyboard to Shadowbolt and then covering yourself in oil and rolling all over it?

yeh i picked up destruction lock as my dual iv been affliction/demo the whole time iv played warlock destruction seems a lot different from my usual playing style so any advice given here to him il take into account for myself.

tried to spec as best as i could think based on what i know as a lock but can use tweaking and atfer the patch i could do with redoing my affliction build but meh works for how i play and i can top dps charts with it so yano dont matter so much about that

Thank you,and yes I switched to Demonology to try a build,I will follow that "cookie cutter" build,i'll let you know how well it went for me

EDIT: I'm not sure yet how I should use Metamorphosis...as soon as its up?Or just when I have a lot of mobs on me(so that I use Immolate Aura)

Well It was originally my friends account before he gave it to me at lv.60 So I guess Im missing that "60 levels" of experience...

kind of yeh, they play a big part in the 60-70 run which goes really fast. battlegrounds is the best way to go and affliction been a nice easy level spec espesh for 60-70 run which i think is the best but demo is also good

Well I did level 60-80,and I only used Affliction for the whole time =D But as for Raiding I dont think I'm good enought at the perfect timing with the Dots Rotation

drain life when they start to drop namly unstable and haunt put them back up again keeping in mind corruption can be a bitch for recasting

destruction dps is easier in a felguard/destruction build im topping the dps charts quite a lot now
