Yay, a WoW thread.

My mains a priest - they're a little painful to level before shadowform, but after that, they're a lot of fun. ;)

That's cause losing 10 games a week gets you [welfare]epics while raiding 10 times a week could yield you nothing but a nice repair bill.

I raided for a bit over a year before I got burnt out and bored.

While raiding can be awesome (I don't think there's anything in PvP other than winning a $$$ tournament that can match the thrill of downing a difficult boss for the first time), farm content gets boring as shit.

Clearing BT/Hyjal for the 30th time is mind-numbing.

My favorite boss fights are: Kael'thas, Reliquary of Souls, Illidan and Kalecgos. The rest are fairly standard/forgettable for the most part. Vashj is unique, but I hate that bitch with a passion so yeah...

Hmm I disagree. First off Archimonde is far more exciting fight than Illidan. And getting bored from the PvE progression is entirely your own fault. I pity players who play this game like their lives and then get burnt out.

Advice to those interested in the progression, find a guild that raids 3 nights a week. 4 maybe, but 5 is overkill, just lead to this uncontrollable addiction leading "burnt out." Any hardcore raiding guild can clear Black Temple. The game isn't hard, and if you raid 5-6 times a week, its just an eventuality. A guild that kill Kalecgos after only killing Illidan 3 times, that's what you should be looking.

And lastly, anyone who looks down on PvP, no way there is any argument to say PvE is superior. PvP takes far more thinking, and skill than PvE. PvE is easy, its a no brainer, simple, predictable. PvP you have to be fast to react and adapt. That is if you are actually seeking to be competent at PvP.

PvE Warlock: Spam Shadow Bolts for 4 hours. Yeah that's really really hard.
PvE Resto Shaman: Spam chain lightning, yeah that takes skillz
PvE Holy Priest: Hmm should I use Greater Heal Rank 7, 3 or 1? That's about the toughest decision you have to make.

ROFL @ anyone who thinks PvE is hard or more gratifying. I am no gladiator at PvP and I find far more enjoyment in killing a skilled player. Attacking a Boss that will never hit me because he only reacts to threat is hard...

Please, Archimonde is the same shit for 8 minutes. /pray I don't get RNGed and wipe the raid. Illidan requires much more "intelligent" movement (aka not just running around like a retard) and positioning than Archimonde tbh. Everything in the fight is completely manageable as long as you execute. Even if you execute on Archimonde if someone gets fire, curse and then punted from the raid, there's nothing you can do about it, especially if it's a mage, priest or (i forget last one) which gives a silence, which more often than not will result in the beginning of a wipe.

PvE and PvP: It's the same, you learn a fight (Be it a boss or an arena matchup), learn what to do, then you execute it. The better you execute, the more likely you'll win.

I raided 4 days a week for 4 hours. And for a good 3 months, it was only 2-3 days a week since we could clear Hyjal/BT that quickly. The wonderful "pacing mechanism" of trash is the part that burns you out. Spending 2 hours clearing trash in BT to get to the bosses dropping decent loot (Everything before Gurtogg/RoS is trash once you've killed Illidan).

Kalecgos isn't that hard once you figure it out. It's a matter of quick reaction and being aware of things going on around you and the fight as a whole. A guild with good communication and conscious players could kill Kalecgos assuming they meet the minimum gear requirement. But, a guild who killed Illidan 2-3 times is NOT going to get anywhere after Kalecgos until they've farmed a good deal of gear from BT/Hyjal.

An old one that transfered from some old server and makes me do naxx or risk losing attendance %. Not as exciting as you think. O, and ZA, GOD ZA, might as well PvE in PvP gear for all the stamy you have to stack.

@above
The first few times Teron is exciting. I loved turning into a ghost but hated having no ability to control the adds coming to rape me while that one guy was busy being surprised for 45 seconds trying to remember what buttons to press.

What do you mean? I have to get my S1 Gear later, and that requires much PvP.

Arg, the LvLing is getting slower now.....

You dont HAVE to get it, only if you are gonna do pvp. Although its still not that great for some classes there. I still dont really like having full pvp gear when pvping. Im a hunter so in battleground PVP theres so much potential damage being wasted on defensive stats that im not using because as a hunter im not supposed to be up close and personal with the enemy, im supposed to keep my distance.

If you are gonna do pve please dont get it. A few months back i was getting so fed up with doing PuG heroics with people in full season 1 gear, they think they own because they are "full epic" but i was out DPSing them in pve back when i only had like 2 epics and still had 1 or 2 greens. I even had people trying to kick me out the group because i didnt have 12k hp like another hunter did which is just overkill, only tanks and maybe melee dps really need anything above 7000ish in anything below 10mans. Oh, and warlocks, they usually need a bit more.
