Wolf Information and Questions
Taken from Moogie's Hints & Tips
Wolf Knowledge.
Grey Wolves can be purchased at the Stable NPC for 1 million gold.
White Wolves can be purchased through the Item Mall for 130 Silk.
Grey Wolves can be sold and traded, but White Wolves cannot.
Silver/Gold EXP tickets affect a Wolf's EXP gain. If you have a Gold ticket, the experience your wolf receives from a kill is doubled (100% extra). With a Silver ticket, he gains 50% extra.
* Being in an EXP distribution party affects a Wolf's EXP gain also.
To name your Wolf, first summon it, and then open the Information page. Click the button labelled "Create name" and enter a name for your pet. This cannot be changed once set, so make sure you don't typo! All names must be unique, so if someone else has already taken that name you wanted, you cannot use it.
Wolves cannot be summoned/unsummoned 20 seconds after the end of combat. They also do not have an inventory and cannot carry items.
To heal a Wolf, use transport recovery pills. There are also special 'status abnormality' potions that can be purchased at the Stable NPC.
Wolves have a hunger bar. This meter starts at 100% and slowly drops at a rate of 1 point every 3 seconds. If the hunger bar reaches 0%, your Wolf will die. To avoid this, buy HGP potions from the Stable NPC. The hunger bar is frozen when the Wolf is unsummoned.
Did your Wolf die? Go to the Stable NPC and buy the Grass of Life item. Don't let him die too often, these things are 50k gold each!

getting a 20+ wolf aint nothing.
i bought wolf did mangyang quest
i started to do charms quest but my wolf died and i only bought 1 res pot (figured he wouldnt be one hitted by taroist, but guess what)
by time i had gotten 4 charms my wolf was lvl 10. doesnt take much for him to lvl he got one about every 1-2 kills.
imaging how fast he will grow when i take him to penons
another good point is, as long as wolf is summoned it gains exp for all kills. comes in handy to know you dont have to have him att anything till he gets bigger.

it gets slower
lvl 18-19 needs almost 200k XP.. but yeah, i guess if ur highish lvl, and can fight in karakoram easilly, it wont be a hassle getting it to 30-40..
Maybe you should add the basic stuff about pets/animals too, they cant be summoned while dead and what not..

YES, they are worth. they are worth every Cent (if you buy White) and every Gold (if you buy Grey). Oh and i didn't say that THEY ARE WORTH TO BUY!!!
And something else, buy wolf as fast as you can.
And i read somewhere on this forum, that the wolf changes it's size and look on lvl 40, the first time. I doono about the second.
Stopped playing SRO a long time ago; still pr0.

Hmm, do I read correctly that I have to feed the bastard every 3 minutes? Take into account the dc time of 1 minute, and I may have to feed him every 2 minutes to make sure he doesn't die when I dc? Sounds like a lot of hastle to me.
I can imagine a high level wolf being helpful to a STR user, but to 1-2 shot kills from a nuker: how helpful is he? Or is he just a liability?

As for myself (haven't bought a wolf yet, but could if I wanted to):
- made a lot of money selling easter eggs (about 1M at lvl 6)
- killing lower level monsters (for quests?) gives you quite a bit of cash
- selling elixirs
- having good equipment (saves me on pots)
- I'm a nuker; I can kill quite quickly. I usually make a few 100K per run.
Especially that 2nd one works quite well. I don't know your level, but try it sometime; you'll spend a lot less on pots, and get relatively many drops since you kill a lot of enemies. I've spent a few hours grinding on Chakjis when I was lvl 25, and usually made about 200K-250K per hour.
