[PLEASE READ] Changes to the SRF moderation team

Post by SuicideGrl »

Effective immediately, Sylhana and Deacon have been removed from the SRF moderation team and banned from SRF for bot support. Both of these individuals have added a lot to the forum and to the mod staff, but both of them have recently come under scrutiny for suspicion of botting, having even had topics started about them in the Exposed Botters section of this forum.
[Deacon's thread] [Sylhana's thread]

Though the evidence posted against both Deacon and Sylhana was not enough to ban them for botting themselves, there is definitely enough evidence for them to be banned for bot support, which according to this forum's rules shares the same penalty.

If we are to support a policy of legitimacy and fair play in this forum and in the game then we have to be able to maintain credibility toward that end. Anyone whose in-game actions are such that another user would even suspect them of botting doesn't belong on this team.

Thank you for your patience on this matter as we discussed it internally and pieced together our own evidence. At this time, SRF is not accepting applications for mods to take the places of those who are no longer with us. When and if the time comes that more help is wanted, we will go from there.

Yes sad very sad, that your you could not make ur friggin minds up about deacon, either you need better communication or you start treating this like a forum and not a friggin orginasation of power hungry rtards, whos epenis grows larger by the day when they use their "mod stick".

Oh and btw, i'm kinda sick of this forum and i will even give you the excitment to ban me for 7days, as i quite happily use NO-DC client, supplied to me by my good friend Deacon (nick), botter or not he is still a good friend to me :) ban me, permantly SG, if thats what puts the cream in your pants, i rly dun care, i got the shit i need to read these forums if i really do want :)

I would like to add, i DO NOT BOT =)never have, and never will, the moment i come to close to it i shall quit the game :)

Peace out and gg.

It's so easy to critiscize, while it's so hard to appreciate.

First this forums asks to ban botters from the board
we do, change rules, etc
whine whine
then be strict with staff members too
we do

Was wondering why Sylhana left. Atleast they didn't run and deny it. Sad to see them go, but this proves how far SRF is willing to take the war on bots atleast. Good luck you 2

Wow you realize you've just banned 2 very helpful people on this forum (especially Sylhana). Who gives a f.uck if they use a no-dc client or bot after all its just a game, and afaik Deacon or Sylhana didn't come here and talk about botting and sh1t so why should you care what they do in game as long as they are helpful on the forum. It should be Joymax's responsibility to ban bots, not yours. I'm really sorry to have seen so many good members go for this reason. But after all you are the admin and I have to respect your decisions, however wrong they may seem.

Good luck to both Deacon and Syl. Regardless of what they didn't do or might have done, they both were great contributors to the forum.

It's not that confusing:

Sylhana: Sun Mar 09, 2008 9:19 am
Deacon: Sat Mar 29, 2008 8:30 am

This thread: Wed Apr 02, 2008 10:27 am

Although i'm sure SG will edit his posts next time he's on.

I was wondering why Deacon got banned... but i didn't know syhana was banned until i saw her farewell thread. They were very nice members in SRF, maybe if stop supporting bots they might be unbanned :).

@Death, I give a fk. Clearly I'm not the only one.

Not good to see helpful positive members go of course, BUT the correct decision regarding what these forums permit. Not an easy decision to be sure, but respect to those who made it.

im really gonna miss syl, he was a good bloke. But rules are rules, we all live by them and we must abide them. He broke the rules and thus must pay for his actions.

As far as deacon is concerned, no opinion i suppose.

Keep up the good work sg.

Also should syl's thread say something at the end which indicates that he was banned for bot support? or did i miss that already?

I'm getting quite sick of you. You farked him over and you know it. Don't come here and play your silly little angel-act. Your happy about your little scam.

You're the Farking worst botter i've ever seen, and I, and entire oasis knows it, eventhough you said someone else botted your char for you (lol). Though we cannot ban you for it on this forum, i hope some people are working on it.

Allthough, this continuous blasphemy should be bannable imo, your a cock, period, neither holy nor pure, allthough your little act seems to suggest otherwise. I hate cocks, and they are so much worse then botters.

fo Ric. or enrico, w/e makes you feel good.

I'd just like to thank the mod team for all the hard work they've been doing to keep the forums going amongst all of the flames and whining of some of the members. It's a tough job, certainly not easy to do what they do, some of the decisions that need to be made.

I'm sure Deacon and Sylhana will be missed by many. I myself never really got to know either of them, but I know they both made some good contributions to these forums. Good luck to you both. However, as others have said, rules are rules.
