Re: Mod Positions - Round 2

Post by NightShroud »

All I'm going to say is: I might be interested, but I'm still a newb to the forum, and I don't know the rules. If I ever start to fit in more, and get more involved, it would be nice to have a spot on the mod list.

I would like to apply for the Character & Skills forum.

Allthough I’m only 3X in the game (on different characters though), I’ve read quite allot about a whole bunch of different builds and skills. Therefore I truly believe I can help people with questions if needed. I’m patient, and willing to answer the same question over and over again, or provide the person with a link to some other post in which he can find his answer.

I really like the forum, and to be able to moderate a section of it would be great. Definitely active in the game aswell as this Forum, which doesn’t really come back in my amount of posts. Probably since i never thought it would be usefull for me to register, changed my mind and recently still did. And post count can obviously change.

I know the rules, and think I’m fair enough. I’ll do my best to keep the section clean and organized.

Though this is short and briefly, I believe I’ve informed u enough for now.
Anyway consider me. Thanks.

i want to be a mod for the characters and skills section. i dont really know everything about the game, but who does? ive been reading the forums multiple times a day, ive read all the guides, and im learning new stuff every day. i help my friends and guild mates, as well as just lowbies asking me questions, with their builds. if i can, i help everyone with whatever they need. ive been with the game and forum for a while, so i have a decent amount of experience. thanks for considering me :)

I'd like to apply for guides and tutorials, please, if I may. I have been playing for about 4 months or so. I don't know if having a low post count counts(as it were) against me though. And i'd be proud to be part of upkeeping this forum...it's the nicest of many i've been on. And I forgot, if I don't get it, i'd like to know why, in case I can do something about it.

I would hope that a moderator for 'Characters and Skill' would know a lot about builds, including the various weapons, common builds and how to make them work.

I dont need a 'moderator' that moderates users or problems; I need a helper for all the lost people with questions or poor builds.

Ofcourse, that's nothing odd to suspect, but nobody's perfect in that area me thinks(although some people come close :) )

I do think I know a decent lot about characters and skills, even though I'm only 24...

Well i have so far had 5 characters - all different builds - all got to 30 + - currently i am sticking with my 90% int spear nuker but i still have the other 4. I know about all the other weapons and most of the force skills and the sp requirements for each and how they play - like i said dont let the post count fool you i have been playing for nearly 5 months in total and i think i have a prettyt good grasp of most of the builds and the way to play them. Anyway i hope you consider me - thnx :D

A nack for talent in building characters and knowledge about skills. You give the best advice you can, but understand people still want to do things their own way. Stickied guides should have uniform, organized titles even if you have to edit them. You can spot a good guide among the average posts, and don't mind helping keep this forum organized.

I WANT to be a mod for characters and skills. I have respect for ideas of other people, and I go to that forum a lot. I know the common builds and their tactics, strengths, and weaknesses. I know I may not have many posts, but i was looking at these guides for a long time before I decided to register, so I think I have a good idea of what needs to be done as a moderator and I am willing to do it.

Meh, after 5 different characters, and all different builds from pure int to hybird to pure str, I know my stuff.

I usually post a lot at the Character and Skills forum already, it has been a while since I did not know how to answer a question. I have good SRO knowledge =)

I would argue that that's the reason people apply for that forum. If you don’t think you have the knowledge to cut it, it would be pointless to apply.

Two moderators for that particular forum seems a good idea though, they would have different experiences, and give each other and the person asking the question allot more insight. Although I guess one person could handle it perfectly.

As the forum grows, the staff team should grow as well.

To qualify for a staff position, you must meet all of the following requirements.

You have a sense of fairness and unbias towards others yes
You know the rules we have set in place, and why we have them. yes
You understand you might not be picked. I can live without it
.....repeat that line again. see above
You don't flame or insult other users. EVER. only when they deserve it, but I guess I can cut back or save that for my posts on tavern
You have decent posting skills. not for me to say
You are active and love this forum.I think i actually check this forum more than I check my email

Characters and Skills
I'm in your posts, stealing your quotes.

Hiya =)

I would also like to apply for a moderator position in the forum:

You have a sense of fairness and unbias towards others.
- I have never flamed or judged anyone for their differences in opinions; I respect what different people have to say and think.

You know the rules we have set in place, and why we have them.
- Yep, and I'm probably one of the few people who have read the rules.

You understand you might not be picked.
- Understood, and I will not argue my case or any unfairness if I'm not picked.

.....repeat that line again.
- REPEATED :D

You don't flame or insult other users. EVER.
- Again, I have never done that. If you check my posts, it's easy to see that I treat everyone nicely.

You have decent posting skills.
- I have an excellent grasp of the English language and I know my grammar ^^.

You are active and love this forum.
- I have joined this forum in Feb 2005. Since then, I may not have posted a lot, but I visit this forum on an everyday basis and I read nearly all of the posts.

With all that being said, I have played SRO for a long time and I know nearly everything about SRO. I would love be a bigger part of this excellent forum. I believe I have the necessary skills and people knowledge to fulfill this position. I also do not abuse power. Thank you for considering and I would like to moderate the Guides Tutorials <-- mini neat freak or the Questions Answers. Again, thanx ~

You have a sense of fairness and unbias towards others.
A: I think so.

You know the rules we have set in place, and why we have them.
A: Yep.

You understand you might not be picked.
A: I really expect to not be!

.....repeat that line again.
A: I really expect to not be!

You don't flame or insult other users. EVER.
A: I try my best.

You have decent posting skills.
A: Aside from my tpyo-curse and some grammar errors, I think so.

You are active and love this forum.
A: Somewhat and Yeah, I love this place.

I really can't be a mod here for a hundred of reasons. Some of them:

1. I <3 Ryoko!
2. I'm in SH guild so...
3. People will sense some bias even if it do not exists.
4. I love this place.
5. When you mod, visiting the forums cease to be a leisure to be an obligation, and I'm already full of obligations.
6. Obligation (sp?) ruins Fun
7. Have I already said that I love these folks 'round here? Bake, Moogie, Ryoko, Wong and the list goes on...

Hello! First of all, I would just like to say that SRF is a great place. I have been to countless other forums associated with Silkroad, and must say that this site is probably one, if not the most friendly and well-maintained. The community is very active, and helpful, as well. For a long time, I remained unregistered and just poked around the forums reading, but recently I decided to get into the action. Since then I've been quite active, as you can see from the frequency of my posts :D.

I have been playing Silkroad for a good 8 months, and as such I have seen plenty. I tend to read a lot of guides/threads about builds, because I am weird like that. I've also talked to many higher level and experienced players for their opinion about builds, even making characters on other servers to do so. I feel that I have a good grasp on all the common builds, their mechanics, and the various weapons available in the game. I am conscious of the qualification criteria, and aware that I may not be picked, especially with my small number of posts. With my uncanny knowledge, I believe I could assist a lot of people, but I also make mistakes, so bear with me :). I am not a fan of flaming and you will probably never see me doing it deliberately, but when I am honest, I can be somewhat harsh. Organization is good in my book, and I wouldn't mind keeping the forum neat for ease of use whenever someone needs a guide or something...

Therefore, I would like to apply for the moderator position in the Characters and Skills section. Please know that if I happen to commit a serious violation of any rule or use my power abusively, I would be happy to relinquish my position. Thank you for your time, and for making Silkroad Online Forums possible!

Well, Since Q&A has been taken, I wish to re-apply for Guides and Tutorials.

I am a grammar-nazi, I spell, and capitalize every word, and sentence I use.

I have a strong sense of uniformity, and have sufficient abilities to fairly moderate the forum in question.

I'm fair, I always make sense, and am funny. (Again, In my own opinion)

I'd recommend Hyori if he wants it for characters and builds. From what I've seen, he seems to know a lot about them. As for other aspects of what you're looking for in mods, that'd be for you to judge.

O.o

Well ive been here for some time.. and ive gotten a lot of help and support from the forums.. So even though ive helped some. It will be nice to help again.

I would like to become a Mod for the "Guides and Tutorials" section. Ive already made and posted a couple of guides.. I enjoy making them informative but also i love making the funny. People of SRF and SRO have told me that they enjoy my posts because they explain in detail but are a lot of fun to read. Which makes me happy :D

I would be willing to spend time making a guide for a topic if it is requested. However if one single person asks me then i will just inform them. If a group of people ask me then i will make the Guide.

(Now for the Understandings)

You have a sense of fairness and unbias towards others
I do not have bias to any one. No matter what nationality, age or even SRO job. Were all players.
You know the rules we have set in place, and why we have them.
I completely understand SRF rules and why they have been set in place. I have seen people breaking the rules and informed them of their actions.
You understand you might not be picked.
Although it would be an honour to be picked. I understand that there are many other people who also want this honour. So even though it is possible that i will be chosen it is still more likely that i wont. Which i completely understand.
.....repeat that line again.
I understand i might not be picked
You don't flame or insult other users. EVER.
To my recolection. In all my time here i have not flamed a user. It is true that i have gotten angry at an old banned user for completly spaming the forums and my threads. But SG quickly took care of him (Thnx Again SG)
You have decent posting skills.
Now i do have posting skills. I can easily post in bbcode without having to press the bbcode buttons at the top. Which makes posting much faster and efficient
You are active and love this forum.
Although i am a regular user in many forums for many games. I must admit that this forum is one of the best. It is very well Monitored and any offencive or trouble making users are quickly delt with in a fair way. I am very active in this forums.. To be honest about 70% of my deaths on SRO were caused because i have been checking the SRF forums.

So in conclusion i appreciate that u have taken the time to take my application under consideration and hope i will be hearing from you soon on your final decision.
