lol they r down rite now, i can still post becuz i have some bookmarks on srf, so i have acces to it, but if the url turns in silkroadforums.com i get dced, ryoko, can u hurry this up?

Yes Fox.

But for like, a day or two while domain change switches over.

Takes time to circulate to the different nameservers on the net.

The move will happen in a couple hours from this post.

Once you see something like "We're moving"... you know it happens.

No posts, rep, counts or other stuff will be lost.

Estimated total down-time:

In theory, one or two hours.
In practice... up to three days for DNS information to propagate.

As some of you have already noticed, the site is currently up and running.
Well, for the bit I'm seeing here...

Anyway, this is not exactly as it should be.
The site's on the new server, as expected.
However, connections are routed through the old one (no, you don't want to know any details).

Cause:
DNS is still pointing to the old server.

Solution:
If you happen to come accross SD, beat him.
Sticks, clubs, large stones, whatever works.
If he complains, tell him I said so.

I've no idea how long we can keep up the current condition.

The site's been moved, is up and running.
The rest is up to SD.

DNS is updated. Not confident about -all- settings but review in exec lounge.

Yes, however not much was lost. You can't expect huge server migrations like this to go down without a hitch.
