I'd suggest what someone else said, go hybrid spear, or even hybrid sword. Hybrid swordsmen are hard to kill and do a lot more damage than is expected. Believe it or not, there are honest silk dealers. You just need to know them.

But in general, don't buy silk from anyone but those that you trust.
