Re: [Official] SRF Starcraft II Thread

When Queens had range 3, Terran could make four Hellions and deny the Zerg third base for a very long time, any sort of Creep spread and scouting and then, only off those four hellions, go three Command Centers, double Engineering Bay and Banshee, while still getting their infrastructure up (extra B...

Re: [Dota 2] Official Thread

Then how am I supposed to play the game properly? At least, when I play SC2, I know I'm not going to rage because people leave the game after they've been ganked once. In DotA, 70% of games, that happens and it's quite infuriating.

Re: [Dota 2] Official Thread

Honestly I believe that the number of games to be "good" at the game differs a lot from person to person. If you look around and read guides and put effort into learning the game, it's really not that hard. You obviously need to play games for muscle memory and the usual problem solving a...

Re: [Official] SRF Starcraft II Thread

I just did it with Zerg too. ^_^ http://i.imgur.com/rMq5z.jpg Albeit, it was much easier than last time I tried. I used to have a really hard time in ZvT, but after the Queen change, ZvT is quite comfortable. I was talking to poehalcho, and he was saying no Zerg who goes up in rank in the current me...

Re: [Official] SRF Starcraft II Thread

Currently, I play the ling/infestor/ultra style in ZvZ. Quick ling upgrades are a big part of that. I get a 12 minute Hive, so I continually upgrade, from 0/0 to 3/3 and adrenal glands. Ultras come out at 15-16 minutes, with 5/3 upgrades (most Roach users are still on 2/2 here, which makes this timi...

Re: [Official] SRF Starcraft II Thread

Interesting, you sounded very Zerg to me ("having the correct amount of units in a given unit of time"). I played Random for a while too, so I got a pretty good taste of all mirror matchups. I don't know much in depth about TvT, since T was always my weakest race (around Platinum level, I ...

Re: [Official] SRF Starcraft II Thread

You don't need to worry about APM or fancy marine micro until Master League. I played Random until Diamond League on my second account, and I was winning TvZ with ease, basically with solid macro only. I used very macro-oriented builds, like 1 rax CC into Reactor Hellion into a third CC into Cloaked...

Re: [Official] SRF Starcraft II Thread

After the ghost nerf they terrans don't have a great way to deal with hive tech zerg now, cept ravens. I'm sure terrans will figure something out, they always do. That's right. If you overcommit to Vikings, and 6 Ultras show up, you're in big trouble. Same goes for overcommitting to Marauders or Ta...

Re: [Official] SRF Starcraft II Thread

I only made 60, because that's basically all I need on three base. Went up to 80 in the late game. RO16 in GSL is 7 Terrans, though, we'll see how it goes after the next group stage. I can see how TvZ is hard, but I also feel like some things haven't been explored enough yet, like the Turtle Mech wi...

Re: [Official] SRF Starcraft II Thread

I won against 2 silver zergs today I won against two mid-master Terrans with Zerg yesterday. I made 60 drones on three base, defending off six Queens and four Zerglings. Then, I made a couple of Infestors and Zergling upgrades, a 12 minute Hive, went up to five bases and showed up with fully upgrad...

Re: .dll and .exe files

Even if you try and disassemble a .dll or an .exe and you actually learn to read machine code, anything you disassemble will probably be incomprehensible. There's no solution to your problem. You can make .exe's and .dll's out of code, but you can't make code out of binaries. At least not in a compr...

Re: yes, another computer thread.

You could DIY, as far as the assembly goes. Saves you 70$ you can spend on a better video card, if the computer is going to be used for a lot of gaming. Maybe you can squeeze in a GTX 560Ti in there somehow. 8 GB of RAM would also be nice, sometimes 4 GB isn't exactly enough. When I have SC2 open, s...

Re: wants to learn coding/programming

C is a nice low level language that can help you understand fundamentals pretty easily. I started with visual basic, then very basic c++, then onto C. I learned a lot more about underlying ideas and programming concepts when I used C though. After you learn the basic concepts you should easily lear...

Re: wants to learn coding/programming

More important than knowing a specific programming language, or knowing "how to do X or Y", is to understand the fundamentals of Programming. I would strongly advise against diving right into things like Minecraft Mods or trying to design patches/gui mods straight away. You need to have a ...
