You might want to turn VSync back on and play with the card's clock/mem speed if you want higher FPS. I don't know if the 9800 overclocks well but it's worth a shot!

I got it running pretty smoothly on my Ubuntu box. I use Wine to emulate and PlayOnLinux for installation and whatever comes after. Use low to medium graphic settings (don't use bloom!!!).
I takes some messing around but you'll get there!

when i try and play silkroad its like its slow motion when i play i dunno if its cuz the internet is crap or the pc the internet is slow but on my other pc it could still play games like 9dragons. i have vodafone mobile broadband. Could you post your system specs and a screenshot of your processes ...
