this is exactly like the global warming conspiracy Bob: "Oh my god Joe i see a trend thats going up!" Joe: "Oh shit! global warming!" some time in 2010 joymax will release Silkroad 2 to try and bring back some of its player base. Silkroad will "die" around the same tim...

Re: Google trends: prediction for end of SRO
I remember reading about SRO 2 a while back, but I never saw anything official like a press release, just fansite rumours. Anyone got a veritable link?
Also, lol.

Google trends: prediction for end of SRO
Noticed something interesting (yet totally unsurprising) on Google trends about the popularity of silkroad online. Looks like the game reached its peak in mid 2007 and has been steadily declining ever since. http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/999/74260902.jpg I decided to use the graph to make a pre...

Hmmm... so where's the radioactive decay constant come from then? Do you need to derive it from the half-life some how?
Anyway, sorry if bad advise was bad.

Re: Nuclear Decay Rate law
You're solving for N(t) = the ammount left at time t All you need to do is plug in the variables you have been given. λ = the half-life (keep it in the same units as you use for t, that is in years) = 12.4 years N(0) = the ammount at time = 0 = 56.2mg in your case ln = natural logarithm, i'm assumin...

Re: British scientists develop brain to brain communication
Unless they've got you hooked up to an EEG they won't be picking up diddly-squat signal. As the distance between the detector and the scource (various different parts of the brain with independantly-firing neurons) increases you would become less certain where your signal is coming from. There'd als...

Re: British scientists develop brain to brain communication
From the look of it, after reading the article, it's a system where a computer first has to be trained to recognise a paricular thought pattern in order to then send a specific signal, the example in the article being: think of moving the left arm for 0 and right arm for 1. So the machine can't deci...

Re: any known problems with updating vista to windows 7?
I recently got a new laptop with vista on it, ran as slow as hell. I wiped the HD and replaced vista with windows 7 RC. Works great. Most of the slowness you see with new computers is because they come bloated with useless software pre-packaged in by the manufacturer. Best bet is to just get rid of ...

Re: Math question - probability
Bumped from April just because. I drew a picture. I think where Nuclear was confusing himself in the "pick two then pick one from the two" case was by finding a conditional probability based on the condition that the first pick contained a 1 (that is: Pr(1)|first pick = (1,x)) rather than ...

Re: Discord Wave
I would use it more often in parties, but it has a little problem: if a mob has not already aggroed on to the person you use discord wave on, the discord wave will increase the aggro of that mob on your target instead of decreasing it, so it's a little useless to use when there is a crowd of mobs ne...

I remember hearing that another reason it won't be implemented is because of different internet gambling laws internationally, for instance, internet gambling is illegal here in Australia. Since it's an international game, they are unable to implement it.

if you go to one of the goldbotter sites, goldceo.com for example, you will notice the list of games on the left menu. Wow, is included for EU and US servers. If cheating is something to be ashamed of, then playing by the rules should be something to be proud of, even more so when there is plenty of opportunity ...
