I want to make a party with a perfect player in alexander server, anyone to help me

When i mod the media.pk2 file, will the change took place soon when i start the game after modding? or should i do any steps to see effects? Second Q is that i am in level 35, Alexander server, with a blade degree 5, what codes exactly to increase it?

My problem is not how, but why the game refuses to start when i mod? i click the icon but it does not launch, i tried this several times !
