leveling spear all the way is good to use ghost petal in case your enemy gets in melee range... if you are going for 1 wepon 1 elem you should lvl it.

Some people go for 2 elements and no weapon, but if you really want 1 wepon and 1 elem then the only solution i see is letting your highest mastery drop like 6 or 7 levels behind yuor current lvl and farm a few SP. 1k SP isn't really much and you can do it within a few days probably. Well i was talking about having only the first level or first few lvls and having it maxed out. Maybe it's something like:
1 lvl : 200 dmg
MAxed : 300 dmg

But i dont have a high lvl char so i wouldnt know, tahts teh kind of difference i'm talking about.
