But at lvl 42 with a 9 lvl gap your masteries are at lvl 33, giving you 1-3 nukes. That should be enough to grind.

If you wait to get your nukes to farm you won't be able to farm till lvl 39. you will have to raise your masteries to 30 to get your nukes then your gap will be 0 at lvl 30. you will have to build your gap back up to 9 to farm, hence lvl 39 for farming. at this point you may as well wait till lvl 4...
